New to wines? Not really obsessed about wine but enjoy a good glass now and then?

Barrel to Bottles is a site for casual wine drinkers in New York City who’re looking to pick up a high-quality, low cost bottle for any occasion.

Each month, we’ll list four bottles of wine grouped by a common theme. The theme can be anything - region, grape, good for first dates, big parties, etc. - and we’ll make sure that no bottle costs more than $20. We’ll find these bottles by visiting four random wine stores in New York and asking each store for a recommendation based on the theme. After purchasing and tasting the wines, we’ll post them up with short descriptions, prices, and directions to the stores where they can be found.

And Just a Minor Note
The wines listed in our monthly editions are subject to price changes and limited availability at the highlighted wine store. Sometimes, word gets around and people buy out the entire inventory. Or, and this is more likely, the season passes and it’s time for other wines to shine. Act quickly to avoid disappointment.
